Who Was Hot Last Week?

Mika Zibinajad – Zibinajad was the top point getter from the last week. 8 points in 2 games is exactly what Rangers fans wanted to see from him. It’s also the last thing that Senators fans wanted to see as they traded him to the Rangers for a bag of potatoes(yellow to be exact) and a few cans of creamed corn.
Anthony Mantha – It took Mantha one night to make all of the people who bought Ben Bishop early squirm. This might be the year that we see another step forward for Mantha, so don’t be surprised if he keeps putting up big numbers as he dropped 7 points against 2 playoff teams from last year. Check your league, he could be available. He is available in 20% of Yahoo leagues, and 15% of ESPN leagues.
Leon Draisaitl – Draisaitl gets the call here partially because of his 5 points, but largely because of the ubsured minutes that Dave Tippitt has chosen to deploy him for each night, averaging out to 26.26. Those are top pair defencemen minutes, not top forward minutes. If you’re in a trading league, check how your points are scored. If you’re not counting plus minus, he could be worth paying a big price for as he will have a lot of opportunities if these minutes keep up. Just beware that with big minutes, could come injury(also big responsibilities, but that is beside the point).
Rasmus Dahlin – Thought the first week of the season, it’s fair to say that Dahlin has been the better Rasmus in Buffalo. He put up 5 points, 3 on the power play, and is playing top pair minutes for the most part. The sky’s the limit for Dahlin as the 19 year old holds the early points league amongst defenseman!
Jordan Binnington – A lot of fantasy players shied away from Binnington in their draft, which is common for goalies that more or less come out of nowhere. I ranked Binnington more aggressively than most, but also don’t blame anyone who has been burned by investing in all of the one year wonders in the past.So far so good though for Binnington, as he is 2-0-1 so far after facing Toronto, Dallas and Washington.
