Sorry, had to do some cheesy Election Day tie in.
This week will focus on tight ends and running backs. With the recent news that premier tight end George Kittle will be lost for about eight weeks, and that injuries and COVID-19 have impacted the running back ranks, these positions have a bit more of an emphasis in week 9.
Players are generally available in less than 50% of most leagues.
Week 9 byes: Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams
TIGHT ENDS
JORDAN REED – 49ERS
Kittle’s replacement on the team would also make a decent replacement on your fantasy roster. Reed had nine catches for 73 yards and two touchdowns on 14 targets in about one and a half games with Kittle out.
ROBERT TONYAN – PACKERS
Aaron Rodgers is his quarterback, and that is usually one of the better recommendations you can have for picking up a player. It is a short week for the Packers and with the Packer running corps in flux due to injury and COVID-19, Tonyan could see some more targets on Thursday night.
LOGAN THOMAS – WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM
Nice schedule coming up with matchups against the Giants, Lions, and Bengals. Before their bye last week, Logan had scored in consecutive games with 102 yards combined.
TREY BURTON – COLTS
Even though there is a lot of TE seeing time for the Colts, they like to give the former QB some rushes near the goal line.
ERIC EBRON – STEELERS
Ebron has had a lot of involvement in the Steeler offense the past couple of weeks and had five catches for 47 yards and a touchdown last Sunday
RUNNING BACKS
JAMYCAL HASTY – 49ERS
Hasty and Jerrick Mckinnon should see most of the touches in Thursday night’s game against Green Bay, a team that got torched by Dalvin Cook on Sunday.
J.K DOBBINS AND GUS EDWARDS
Both Raven running backs have some flex type appeal for one of the better running teams in the league. Last Sunday, Edwards saw a season-high 16 rushing attempts and finished with 87 yards and a touchdown. Dobbins had his best game on Sunday with 15 carries for 113 yards and is more involved in the passing game than Edwards.
JORDAN WILKINS – COLTS
Took advantage of his increased playing time Sunday by scoring and netting 89 yards, and word is coming out that Jonathon Taylor is nursing an ankle injury.
DEEJAY DALLAS – SEAHAWKS
Dallas scored twice but his value is hinged on whether Chris Carson and/or Carlos Hyde return.
QUARTERBACKS
GARDNER MINSHEW, KYLE ALLEN, AND NICK FOLES are your best bets in you need a QB.
WIDE RECEIVER
COREY DAVIS – TITANS
A steady performer should really be on more rosters, at least as a reliable fill-in option. He had eight catches for 128 yards and a touchdown in Week 8.
STERLING SHEPARD – GIANTS
The Giants have a favorable matchup with the WFT as Shepard is coming off a Monday night performance that saw him get 10 targets for 74 yards.
NELSON AGHOLOR – RAIDERS
Sunday’s wind in Cleveland hampered most of the Raider’s passing game but Agholor had five catches for 107 yards and a score in Week 7.
CURTIS SAMUEL – PANTHERS
Samuel’s value will take a little hit when Christian McCaffrey returns from his ankle injury, probably this week. However, his versatility and production could be of value if you are in need of some WR help.
