These rankings are based on Yahoo’s standard scoring for points leagues. For transparency’s sake, this is the scoring.
- Goal – 6 points
- Assist – 4 points
- Plus-minus – 2 points
- Power Play Points – 2 points
- Shots on Goal – 0.9 points
- Blocked Shots – 1 point
- Only two players on this list had a shooting percentage of over 10 percent. Anthony DeAngelo, and Zach Werenski. The highest of both of their brief careers. We should expect regression on both players, but likely only by a few percent.
- Four defensemen surpassed the 200 shot mark(Josi, Pietrangelo, Burns, and Theodore), and likely four others would of in a normal season(Carlson, Werenski, Chabot, and Weber). Keep that in mind in your leagues where shots count.
- Nine players had both 100 blocks and 100 hits in the top 30. The real stand out here though was Quinn Hughes having just seven hits. This isn’t necessarily a big deal, it likely speaks more to his ability to stay healthy than anything else, but I would wonder if this ever becomes an issue in his defensive game.
- Just one player in the top 30, had under 30 points. Ryan Graves. He was propped up a bit by being a plus 40, but he also by having 150 blocks and 115 hits. That is a really nice floor especially for a player who played less than 19 minutes per night on average.
