The season is in full swing now, and after an awkward 10 days of scheduling, we now have a bit more consistent slates. There have been some teams shut down with COVID, but have been able to maintain a good slate size, and more importantly, the season is still active.
Tonight is a 5 game slate, with some heavy chalk action in BOS, TB, and FLA, as well as two teams that are coming back from being shut down, in SJ and VGK.
BOS at PHI
In the last game Pasta had a hat trick, and the first line of Boston went nuts. This will be a heavy ownership position, but may not be able to get a viable line stack due to the price increases. Cash, I would probably just look at Pasta, but in GPP, I will be under on the field and hope the chalk doesn’t hit. For this line to hit value at these prices, you almost will need a duplicate performance.
On the Philly Side, I kept up the trend of picking the wrong line over the last week or so for my majority ownership. If I did pick a line tonight, it would be the first line, but don’t feel great about it. Boston is allowing 2.5 goals per game on the road this season so far, and allowing the fewest shots, vs a team that has averaged 3.5 at home, but is taking the fewest shots. There is the possibility of a one off, but on a 5 game slate, probably won’t go there.
DET at TB
Detroit, not much going on with this one. If you want to run DET, Larkin, Mantha and Djoos are the prime suspects, but most likely am going to fade this side.
TB comes in at a heavy favorite again, and I have the most interest in the second line and PP lines for this team. The third line with Gourde, Coleman, Goodrow is a good salary saver, probably wouldn’t full stack, but is a nice option. I will probably fade the first line in this one again in the matchup – they do tend to play a bit more to their opponent and go through the motions on a team they should handily beat. Due to Detroit’s shot volume, I will fade Vasil – unless you want to hop on board in Cash for the ownership.
NASH at FLA
This game errupted for 11 goals, with nice performances from Hub and Foresberg, and the teams go at it again.
For the Nashville side, the second line is going to get higher ownership due to recency and performance as well as cost savings if your trying to fit in some higher lines. If you run Nash, this is probably the line to focus on as well, but will have ownership.
On the Florida Side, L1 is the stack I am going back to, and also have some interest in the second line and power play units. I would expect Hub to be popular again, Hornquist is a nice pivot to that to get 2 line exposure and correlated powerplay as well.
LAK at VGK
On the King’s side, I won’t have much if any ownership. Usually are a better fit for DFS at home where they can control the pace and tempo of the game. If you do want to run some LAK, 1 or 2 is viable. For what its worth, LAK has had some decent games vs VGK on the road.
For Vegas, will see how they come out of the shutdown. There hasn’t been much consistency in how teams have come out, but with this team, I doubt it will affect them as much. My primary interest is in the second line, but the first line is a nice option. The first line will most likely have lower ownership due to pricing.
SJ at ANA
San Jose is also coming off of a shut down, and like VGK, don’t think it will affect them too much overall. Interesting matchup vs ANA at home where they usually play a bit stronger and are able to supress and slow the game down. SJ was finding some traction prior to the shut down, so will see if this will carry on. SJ 1/2 are going to be the preferred lines from SJ into this matchup, and would look to pair with Burns. ANA has at times allowed Gibson to be on an island so is an interesting GPP spot.
Anaheim is usually a bit more interesting at home, but still a difficult play given their lack of scoring, which makes them more of a GPP pivot for salary saving. If you do go ANA, 2 would be my primary focus, then ANA1.

Both SJ and VGK may carry lower ownership due to the break – so are interesting spots.
